Saginaw Rising

Saginaw Rising is a collection of interviews and meetings recorded between October 2011 and December 2012 time in Saginaw, Michigan, which is listed by the FBI as one of the most violent cities in the United States. It includes excerpts taken at the Defending Childhood Conference in Detroit, and an interview with Dr. Gary Slutkin, the founder and executive director of CeaseFire. According to Dr. Zigmond Kozicki, one of the producers of the film, "This movie uses the words of Saginaw residents to describe the effect of violence. Experts outline a strategy for overcoming the contagious virus-like violence in Saginaw."
