Except for me- Kenyatta
Prison labor is not “like slavery,” it is slavery due to the exception in the 13th Amendment. It devalues, degrades, and dehumanizes people, instead of providing them dignity and uplifting them spiritually, intellectually, or financially. It steals their labor and profits from their caging, and benefits both states and the private sector at the expense of those incarcerated, their families, and their communities as well as our morality and public safety. But it doesn't have to be this way. This is Kenyatta’s story.
