Except For Me- Adnan
People who are incarcerated are often ordered to pay restitution, in addition to fines and fees. Restitution creates a financial obligation that few can meet being paid just a few cents an hour, if anything at all, while they're incarcerated. After they've served their sentence, it traps them in a system of debt servitude that undermines their successful reintegration into society. This is Adnan's story.
